Apple Intelligence won’t run on older iPhones

Apple Intelligence won’t be available on older iPhones because their chips lack the power for a good user experience, making responses too slow. Some questioned why Apple doesn’t use servers for this, as it does with Siri. Apple explained that the models running on-device differ from those in the cloud, and older iPhones can’t handle the server demand.

Additionally, Vision Pro won’t support Apple Intelligence due to the M2 chip’s near-full capacity, already assisting the R1 chip with real-time processing tasks. This is a setback since AI fits well with Vision Pro and future Apple Glasses.

Lastly, users will face frequent permission requests for ChatGPT handoff, as there’s no “Always Allow” option yet. This might change to balance privacy and user convenience.
