The Motorola Razr Plus was my favorite flip phone of 2023, but by year-end, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 seemed better due to its secure hinge and reliable cameras. However, Motorola’s 2024 Razr updates may change that. The new Razr features a 3.6-inch cover screen, while the Razr Plus boasts a 4-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. The hinge is now 30% slimmer and dust-protected.
Motorola swapped the ultrawide camera for a 2x telephoto lens in the Razr Plus, enhancing zoom capabilities. Both phones include Moto AI features, such as generative wallpapers and camera enhancements like Adaptive Stabilization.
The Razr and Razr Plus come pre-installed with Google’s Gemini AI and ad-free interfaces. Motorola aims to compete with Samsung, showcasing ambition and improvements. The phones are available for pre-order on July 10, 2024, with the Razr starting at $699 and the Razr Plus at $999.
