Apple is preparing to roll out RCS support on the iPhone with iOS 18, requiring updates from mobile carriers. Some US carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, have already enabled RCS for users running the latest iOS 18 beta. Users with iOS 18 beta 2 can now send and receive RCS messages, which include rich media and read receipts, previously exclusive to iMessage. However, not all carriers support RCS yet, so the feature may not be available for everyone. iOS 18 will be publicly released this fall, with a public beta available next month.
