Samsung’s announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, its thinnest foldable yet, was met with a jab from rival HONOR on social media. Samsung’s Z Fold 6 is 5.6mm unfolded and 12.1mm folded, but HONOR’s Magic V2, released nearly a year ago, is slimmer at 4.7mm unfolded and 9.9mm folded. HONOR plans to launch an even thinner Magic V3 on July 12, with added features like wireless charging and an IPX8 rating. Despite Samsung’s design improvements, HONOR’s foldables have larger batteries and lighter builds. However, Samsung’s global availability remains a significant advantage, as many Chinese foldables are limited to select markets.
