Apple will soon allow iPhone and iPad users in the EU to set default apps for calls, messaging, keyboards, and more, with these options available later this year in a new “Default Apps” section in Settings. Next spring, users can also set default navigation, translation, and spam filter apps. Additionally, users in the EU will be able to delete Apple’s built-in apps like Messages, Camera, and Safari, except for Settings and Phone. Apple will also update the browser choice screen, requiring users to scroll through all options and display App Store captions for each browser.
