In 2023-2024, Google’s Gemini Nano, a lightweight AI model, was introduced on mobile devices like the Pixel 8 Pro and later on the Samsung Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. However, most Galaxy AI features do not use Gemini Nano, despite its presence on these devices. The key feature powered by Gemini Nano is Google Messages’ Magic Compose, which runs entirely on-device. Other AI features, like those in Gboard and Pixel Recorder, are not yet available on Samsung devices. Future third-party apps like Adobe Acrobat and Grammarly plan to integrate Gemini Nano for on-device AI tasks.
