Google Pixel 9 will get Satellite SOS for Android

Google has introduced Satellite SOS for the new Pixel 9 series, allowing users to contact emergency services via satellite when there’s no cellular signal. This feature, similar to Apple’s Emergency SOS, will be available in the U.S. (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) at no extra cost for the first two years. Google partnered with Skylo to bring this feature to Pixel 9, with no clear timeline for its availability on other Android devices. This move follows Qualcomm’s unsuccessful attempt to launch a similar service.
