Google has released Imagen 3, its latest AI text-to-image generator, to users in the US via the AI Test Kitchen. The tool, which offers improved detail and lighting, became generally available recently through Google’s Vertex AI platform. Imagen 3 allows users to create and edit images based on text prompts but has guardrails to prevent generating images of public figures, weapons, or copyrighted characters. Despite these restrictions, users have found ways to create images resembling well-known characters and logos. This approach contrasts with more lenient AI tools like Grok on Elon Musk’s X platform.
