Android 15 blocks thieves from bypassing factory reset protection

Google has strengthened the factory reset protection (FRP) in Android 15 to make it nearly impossible for thieves to bypass. FRP prevents unauthorized access to stolen devices by requiring the original Google account login after a factory reset. In Android 15, key changes include blocking the bypass of FRP by skipping the setup wizard, preventing the addition of new Google accounts or setting new PINs/passwords without verification, and stopping the installation of new apps. These updates aim to make stolen devices unsellable, reducing incentives for phone theft.
