Italy-based app company Bending Spoons, which owns Evernote and Meetup, plans to lay off 75% of WeTransfer’s staff following its acquisition of the company in July. Bending Spoons CEO Luca Ferrari stated the decision is part of a vision to streamline WeTransfer with a smaller, more focused team for long-term success. Bending Spoons has a history of cutting staff at acquired companies, including Evernote and Filmic. The company raised $155 million in equity financing earlier this year. WeTransfer’s future product plans remain undisclosed.
