The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG) has announced Bluetooth 6.0, featuring improvements like Bluetooth Channel Sounding, which provides “centimeter-level accuracy” for distance measurement. This enhancement is expected to significantly improve Apple’s Find My network by making it easier to locate lost devices with precise distance tracking. Bluetooth 6.0 also offers better security for authentication, larger data transmission, and lower latency for audio. However, it may take at least a year before devices, including Apple’s, adopt this new technology.
