A Brazilian judge has banned X (formerly Twitter) following a conflict between Elon Musk and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The ban was ordered on August 30th after Musk failed to comply with the requirement to appoint a new legal representative for X in Brazil. This conflict began in April when de Moraes investigated X for reactivating accounts that were supposed to be blocked under anti-misinformation efforts. Musk’s closure of X’s offices in Brazil escalated tensions, ultimately leading to the platform’s suspension.
