Comcast has confirmed that a third-party data breach exposed the personal information of 237,703 customers, including social security numbers, names, addresses and birth dates. The data was stolen from Financial Business and Consumer Solutions (FBCS), a debt collection company used by Comcast, during a ransomware attack in February.
Comcast was informed of the breach in July and has since ceased using FBCS. This incident follows a larger breach last year that affected 35 million Xfinity customers due to a security vulnerability.
