YouTube has introduced custom image uploads for playlist thumbnails, allowing users to personalize them with text, filters or stickers. This comes after initial AI-generated thumbnails disappointed users. The platform is also adding new features, including easier playlist collaboration via links or QR codes, a voting system for playlist videos and fine-tunable playback speed.
A revamped mobile miniplayer and a Sleep Timer, previously tested with Premium users, are also rolling out. Creators will soon receive badges for milestones and the YouTube TV app is getting a new UI for Shorts and enhanced video presentation.
