Apple’s iPhone 16 and Apple Watch 10 series were recently banned in Indonesia due to not meeting a 40% local content requirement. In response, Apple plans to invest $10 million in a Bandung factory with local supplier Yageo Corporation to produce components for its devices. Apple has submitted this proposal to Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry, hoping to lift the device ban. Google also faced a similar ban for its Pixel 9 series over the same compliance issue.
