Google has confirmed Wear OS 5.1, based on Android 15, marking an upgrade from Wear OS 5, which was based on Android 14. Developers are encouraged to test their apps using the Android emulator, as the OS isn’t yet available for any smartwatch hardware, including the Pixel Watch 3.
Notably, Wear OS 5.1 does not support Android 15’s Private Space feature due to issues with app notifications appearing on connected watches. A stable release date for Wear OS 5.1 has not been announced.
