Several Apple’s services are violating rules that prohibit geo-blocking

The European Commission and the Consumer Protection Cooperation Network (CPC) have warned Apple over alleged geo-blocking practices that violate EU rules. An investigation found that services like the App Store, Apple Music and Apple Arcade restrict access, payment methods and downloads based on users’ country of residence. Apple has one month to address these issues or face enforcement measures, including fines of up to 4% of its global annual revenue. The EU’s anti-geo-blocking rules, in place since 2018, aim to improve cross-border access to goods and services.
