WhatsApp has introduced voice message transcripts, allowing users to convert voice messages into text for easier reading. Transcriptions are done locally on the device to ensure privacy.
Currently, supported languages include English, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian on Android, with more options available on iOS. Additional languages will be added in the future. To enable, go to Settings > Chats and toggle the option. To transcribe a message, long-press it and select “transcribe.”
The feature is rolling out globally in the coming weeks.
