Android is making it easier to find unknown trackers

Google has updated its unknown tracker alerts feature to enhance safety for Android users. The first update allows users to pause location updates to the Find My Device network for 24 hours when an unfamiliar tracker is detected, preventing potential location monitoring.

The second update adds a “Find Nearby” feature to help locate the tracker and provides instructions to disable it. These updates aim to combat misuse of Bluetooth trackers, like stalking and align with a joint Apple-Google initiative to support cross-platform tracker detection.
