Google Wallet now supports adding passports as IDs for TSA security at U.S. airports, rolling out widely with Google Play Services version 24.47.35 on Android 9+. Users can add a passport via the “Add to Wallet” feature by scanning the passport chip and recording a video for verification.
At TSA checkpoints, you can use NFC or scan a QR code to present your ID. This digital ID is not a government-issued replacement and doesn’t support international travel. If your phone is lost, you can remove the ID via Google Account settings.
