Apple settles Siri lawsuit with a $95 million payout

Apple has agreed to a $95 million settlement in a class action lawsuit alleging Siri recorded private conversations after unintended activations and shared them with third parties. The lawsuit claims users received targeted offers based on these recordings, including ads for sneakers and dining. Class members, covering Siri-enabled device users from September 2014 to December 2024, will receive $20 per device. Apple denies wrongdoing, and the settlement awaits court approval. The amount represents about nine hours of Apple’s reported annual profit.
