However, any resolution would require action, such as extending the timeline for ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese owner, to sell its U.S. operations—a step neither administration has confirmed.
With ByteDance focusing on legal challenges rather than finding buyers, the ban, set to take effect Sunday, remains uncertain. Companies like Oracle, Apple and Google have yet to clarify their plans, and TikTok may preemptively go offline if service providers refuse to support it. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has not intervened, allowing the law to stand for now.
