Amazon is launching Alexa Plus, an AI-powered upgrade to Alexa, aiming to make smart home control and daily tasks more seamless. It can order groceries, send invites, track schedules and even analyze documents. The service costs $19.99/month but is free for Prime members. Alexa Plus supports natural conversations, vision-based interactions and AI-generated stories, music and images. It integrates with partners like Uber Eats, Sonos and Ticketmaster and selects the best AI model for each task. Rolling out next month, Alexa Plus aims to compete with AI-powered assistants like Google Gemini and ChatGPT.
