Several smartphone makers have explored color-changing backplates, with OnePlus showcasing a prototype in 2020 and Infinix revealing a dual-color concept in 2021. While the technology hasn’t reached production, Infinix has now introduced an improved E-Color Shift 2.0 at MWC. This AI-powered feature enables dynamic color transitions based on user preferences and external stimuli. It supports six patterns and six color palettes, allowing up to 30 unique combinations. The new AI-Recognize mode adjusts colors based on weather, wallpapers, mood and surroundings, pushing smartphone customization to new heights.
