New concept phone supports full-sized DSLR camera lenses

Realme has unveiled an intriguing concept phone at MWC 2025 – the Interchangeable Lens Concept. It features a one-inch Sony CMOS sensor with support for Leica’s M-mount lenses, including a 73mm portrait and 234mm telephoto lens. The phone also has standard main and ultrawide cameras, as the one-inch sensor requires an attached lens. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the concept is innovative but impractical due to the heavy lens affecting balance. While not the first of its kind, it’s exciting to see brands like Realme and Xiaomi experimenting with smartphone photography advancements.
