Apple gets €150 million fine for its complex privacy options

France’s competition watchdog has fined Apple €150 million for allegedly using its App Tracking Transparency (ATT) system to unfairly dominate the mobile app market. The agency claims ATT makes tracking harder for third-party apps while favoring Apple’s own services, harming smaller publishers. Apple defends ATT as a privacy tool, but critics argue it has hurt ad revenue. The fine doesn’t require Apple to change ATT, but it must display the decision on its website for seven days.
