The FBI warns that hackers are targeting at least 13 older, end-of-life Linksys/Cisco routers using malware called TheMoon. These unpatched devices are being hijacked for botnets and to hide malicious activity. Models include E1200, E2500, E1000, E4200, and more. Two models, E100 and E300, may have been listed in error. If your router is on the list and hasn’t had updates in years, it’s time to replace it – and avoid buying these outdated models, even secondhand.
