Google is rolling out a redesigned Search bar widget on Android with the latest Google app update (v16.19). The new look places the original pill-shaped bar inside a taller container, separates the shortcut into a circular button, and aligns with Material 3 design. It’s more spacious and supports better visibility of wallpapers. The update may affect home screen layouts, as a 4×1 space is now needed for all buttons.
