Google starts to fund electrician trainings

Google will fund the training of tens of thousands of U.S. electricians, including a $10 million grant to support apprenticeship and workforce development programs, to help meet rising electricity demand driven by AI-powered data centers. As power shortages challenge tech expansion, Google joins other major companies like Microsoft in efforts to boost energy infrastructure. The company also plans to release policy recommendations to speed up grid expansion and support new energy technologies, including nuclear and geothermal power.
