Google will pay a $1.375 billion settlement to Texas

Google will pay $1.375 billion to settle data privacy violation claims brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the largest such settlement by a single state. The lawsuits, filed in 2022, accused Google of unlawfully collecting user data, including geolocation and biometric information. Google says the claims involve outdated practices and have since been addressed.
