Microsoft is laying off more than 6,000 employees

Microsoft is laying off over 6,000 employees – about 3% of its workforce – in its largest round of cuts since 2023. The layoffs affect all levels of the company, including LinkedIn and international offices, as part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations and reduce management layers.

These cuts follow earlier performance-based layoffs and come after significant job losses in Microsoft’s gaming and cloud divisions, including the closure of several game studios and reductions at Activision Blizzard, Xbox and HoloLens teams.
