Meta has struck a 20-year deal with Constellation to support the Clinton Clean Energy Center, an aging nuclear plant in Illinois, helping keep it open past 2027. The deal boosts the plant’s output by 30MW and supports Meta’s push to cut its carbon footprint, especially as AI drives up energy use. This marks Meta’s first nuclear energy agreement and aligns with its goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2030, though its overall emissions have been rising since 2019.
