Sony outsourced the manufacturing of its flagship phones

Sony may be stepping back from making its own premium smartphones. A new report suggests the company has stopped manufacturing Xperia devices itself, with production now handled by a third-party — starting with the recently launched Xperia 1 VII. While this doesn’t mean the Xperia line is ending, it marks a shift similar to what Sony did with its mid-range phones.
