28 Years Later, releasing June 20, was partly shot using up to 20 iPhones on custom rigs, blending phones, drones and traditional cameras. Director Danny Boyle, returning to the franchise, used iPhones as a modern nod to the original’s camcorder aesthetic. A standout scene filmed with the 20-iPhone rig offers a “poor man’s bullet time” effect, providing dynamic, 180-degree action shots. The film also uses an ultra-wide 2.76:1 aspect ratio to heighten suspense.
