WhatsApp is testing an AI-powered message summarization feature for Android users, allowing quick recaps of unread messages in chats, groups, and channels. The opt-in feature, called Private Processing, ensures message content isn’t stored or linked to users, with summaries processed in a secure, cloud-based environment and deleted immediately. It’s disabled in conversations with Advanced Privacy. Another AI tool, “Writing Help,” is also in development to refine message tone and clarity. Both features are in limited beta, with no details yet on iOS availability or broader rollout.
