Nokia looking to license its brand to a new smartphone maker

Nokia and HMD Global have largely ended their phone partnership, with HMD replacing Nokia-branded models on its site. However, Nokia is open to licensing its brand to a new large-scale phone maker. Past licensing deals for TVs, laptops, and accessories have also ended. Meanwhile, HMD is scaling back in the U.S., and Nokia is set to report Q2 2025 results soon. It’s unclear who might revive Nokia phones next — an established brand or a new startup.
