Samsung’s new Now Bar feature, introduced with the Galaxy S25 and One UI 7, lets users access app cards from the lock screen without unlocking their phone. Initially supporting 20 apps, that number is expected to grow to 35 by the end of 2025 with the One UI 8 update. One UI 8 also brings Now Bar support to the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s cover screen, showing real-time alerts. Thanks to Android 16’s new “Live Notifications” API, broader third-party app support could follow as developers adopt the new standard.
