Sony phones are disappearing across key markets

Sony appears to be retreating from the smartphone market, with signs of a major pullback from Europe. The company confirmed Xperia phones will no longer be sold directly in Finland, and availability is scarce in key markets like Germany, France and the UK. Sales of the Xperia 1 VII have been halted due to technical issues, and Sony has outsourced production of its flagship phones. With declining presence in the US and Japan, and limited global market share, Sony’s mobile division may be heading toward a quiet exit.
