Apple is restoring blood oxygen monitoring to newer Apple Watch models in the US with a redesign that shifts data processing to the paired iPhone, bypassing an ITC import ban. The feature, available on Series 9, 10, and Ultra 2 sold after January 17, 2024, will show results only in the iPhone’s Health app. It requires watchOS 11.6.1 and iOS 18.6.1. The change stems from Apple’s ongoing patent dispute with medical device maker Masimo.
