Spotify is rolling out a new direct messaging feature that lets users share songs, podcasts and audiobooks without leaving the app. Available on mobile in select markets for users 16+, Messages supports 1:1 chats, text, emoji reactions and encryption. Shared content is saved in a dedicated inbox, making it easy to revisit. Users can accept or reject requests, block accounts and report content. Spotify says the feature complements, not replaces, sharing on platforms like Instagram or WhatsApp.
