OpenAI has launched GPT-5, replacing older models like GPT-4o and GPT-4.5. ChatGPT now runs GPT-5 by default, with Plus, Pro, and Team users able to choose GPT-5 or GPT-5 Thinking (Pro/Team also get GPT-Thinking Pro).
New features include four optional “personalities” (Cynic, Robot, Listener, Nerd), improved code generation with interactive previews, customizable accent colors, and an upgraded advanced voice mode with style controls and broader use. Standard voice mode is being retired.
Pro users will soon be able to link Gmail and Google Calendar for scheduling and email management, with wider rollout planned later.
