WhatsApp is testing a new “Writing Help” feature in its iOS beta that suggests message rewrites based on user-chosen tones like Professional, Funny, Supportive, Rephrase, or Proofread. After typing a phrase, users can tap a new pen icon to see at least three AI-generated alternatives. The tool is powered by Meta’s Private Processing system, which processes messages anonymously and doesn’t store data. Currently off by default, it must be enabled in settings. No official release date has been announced.
