Tile tracker security flaw could expose users to stalking risk

Researchers from Georgia Tech have uncovered serious security flaws in Tile Bluetooth trackers that could let stalkers track users. The devices broadcast unencrypted IDs and MAC addresses, allowing attackers to fingerprint and follow them indefinitely. Researchers also found that Tile may store this data in cleartext, raising privacy concerns despite the company’s claims. Life360, Tile’s parent company, was alerted last year but stopped responding to researchers, saying only that it has since made “improvements.”
