Amazon has unveiled its “Amelia” smart glasses, designed to help delivery drivers work more efficiently. The glasses feature a built-in display, always-on camera and connect to a battery vest with a photo button and emergency dial.
They guide drivers through turn-by-turn navigation, package identification and hands-free delivery photos, while transition lenses adjust to lighting and can be fitted with prescriptions.
Amazon says future versions will use AI for defect detection, warning drivers about wrong deliveries, pets or low light. Hundreds of drivers are already testing the glasses, though no launch date is confirmed. A separate consumer version (“Jayhawk”) may arrive in 2026 or 2027.
