How to escape from Samsung Galaxy Ring trap

The Samsung Galaxy Ring has raised safety concerns after a YouTuber’s device swelled, making it impossible to remove. Samsung says the ring can be cut off in emergencies, but recommends medical help for the procedure.

Before cutting, users should try safer methods: soap and cold water to reduce swelling, submerging the hand in cold water or holding the hand above the heart. If those fail, the ring can be cut at the orientation mark with proper tools, carefully avoiding the battery.

Samsung notes that stuck smart rings aren’t unique to the Galaxy Ring—other brands like Oura also provide similar removal guides.
