Magic Leap has announced a strategic partnership with Google and a new focus on becoming an AR ecosystem partner, using its 15 years of expertise in optics, waveguides and display systems to help develop next-generation AR glasses.
At the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, the companies unveiled a joint AI-powered AR glasses prototype that integrates Magic Leap’s optics with Google’s Raxium microLED light engine, showcasing clear, comfortable visuals designed for all-day wear.
Under a new three-year collaboration, Magic Leap will support Google’s Android XR ecosystem and other global partners in creating lightweight, high-quality AR devices. The move marks Magic Leap’s evolution from building its own headsets to enabling a broader ecosystem of AR hardware for everyday use.
