Shein is opening its first physical stores

Shein will open its first physical stores in France this November through a partnership with real estate firm SGM, placing outlets inside BHV and Galeries Lafayette locations in cities like Dijon and Grenoble. The move comes as France prepares new fast-fashion taxes and ad bans, and after Shein was fined $176M for data violations. Galeries Lafayette opposes the plan, calling it against its values and franchise rules, while Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also criticized Shein’s arrival as contrary to the city’s sustainability goals.
