Study finds Android avoids 58% more spam compared to iOS

A new Google–YouGov survey of 5,000 smartphone users found that Android users are 58% less likely than iPhone users to receive scam texts — and Pixel owners fare even better, being 96% more likely to report zero spam messages in a week.

In contrast, iOS users were 65% more likely to get three or more scam texts during the same period. Google attributes the results to AI-powered RCS safety checks, built-in spam filters, and Android’s phishing defenses.

A separate study by Leviathan Security Group also found Pixel phones leading in fraud protection across major brands, underscoring Google’s growing strength in mobile cybersecurity ahead of 2026.
