TAG Heuer is moving away from Google’s Wear OS with its new Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch, introducing its own TAG Heuer OS built “entirely in-house” for smoother performance and better iPhone compatibility.
While still based on Android, the new system is officially certified under Apple’s Made for iPhone program, ensuring reliable notifications — something Wear OS struggled with on iOS. Google has also effectively dropped iPhone support for Wear OS, making this shift timely.
The Calibre E5 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 5100+ chip, offers about two days of battery life, and comes in 40mm and 45mm models, with prices starting at $1,600. Special New Balance and Golf editions will cost up to $2,400.
