watchOS 26 brings two powerful Health features for Apple Watch

Apple’s watchOS 26 introduces two major new health features for recent Apple Watch models — hypertension notifications and a sleep score system.

Hypertension notifications (available on Series 9, 10, 11, and Ultra 2/3) use the optical heart sensor to analyze blood vessel responses over 30 days. If consistent signs of high blood pressure appear, users receive an alert — helping detect hypertension early and reduce health risks like heart attack or stroke.

The new sleep score feature simplifies sleep tracking by grading three metrics — duration (50 pts), bedtime (30 pts), and interruptions (20 pts) — for a total score out of 100, rated from Excellent to Low. Scores appear in the Sleep app on Apple Watch or the Health app on iPhone.
